spring really makes me miss maine
when i was younger, i was always looking for a secret garden or portal in the woods that would take me beyond what i already knew. i never found it. but i think i was behind the door the whole time and that’s why i never found it. the door is only one way and i had to grow into adulthood for a robin to show me the secret door that led to a beautiful garden except when i opened the door it led back to the woods i had been roaming in the entire time. some things were the same and other things had changed. the trees were bigger and we grew together but not proportionally. some trees didn’t make it at no fault of their own but were at the mercy of skidders clearing the forest. some parts of the forest got wiped out completely but at the same time some of my favorite roads became overgrown. my parents lawn disappeared to be replaced with a very loved vegetable garden with an ice shack staged in the middle. the garage was falling apart on its own but my parents assisted it in its departure with us.
i miss maine in the spring time. i can’t wait to see it soon
